Gade2∗ (1) Department of Physics, University of Arizona, Tucson, AZ 85721, USA (2) National Superconducting Cyclotron Laboratory, Michigan State University, East Lansing, MI 48824, USA (Dated: April 4, 2006) Abstract A computer program is described to calculate momentum distributions in stripping and diffraction dissociation reactions. A Glauber model is used with the scattering wavefunctions calculated in the eikonal approximation. The program is appropriate for knockout reactions at intermediate energy collisions ( 30 MeV ≤ Elab/nucleon ≤ 2000 MeV). It is particularly useful for reactions involving unstable nuclear beams, or exotic nuclei (e.g. neutron-rich nuclei), and studies of singleparticle occupancy probabilities (spectroscopic factors) and other related physical observables. Such studies are an essential part of the scientific program of radioactive beam facilities, as in for instance the proposed RIA (Rare Isotope Accelerator) facility in the US. 1

Multiple-Scattering Model for Inclusive Proton Production in Heavy Ion Collisions

A formalism is developed for evaluating the momentum distribution for proton production in nuclear abrasion during heavy ion collisions using the Glauber multiple-scattering series. Several models for the onebody density matrix of nuclei are considered for performing numerical calculations. Calculations for the momentum distribution of protons in abrasion are compared with experimental data for...

Relativistic one-nucleon knockout reactions from light carbon isotopes

Knockout of single nucleons from fast beams allows one to investigate the single-particle structure of nuclei, in particular for rare isotopes, see Refs. [1,2]. It has been argued [3] that nucleon knockout reactions provide access to spectroscopic factors even on an absolute scale. Measured spectroscopic factors C2exp are smaller than those predicted within a shell-model calculation, C2th. The ...

GCMC Glauber dynamics study for structural transitions in YBCOx (0<x<1), HTc system

We have chosen an Ising ASYNNNI (ASYmmetric Next Nearest Neighbor Interaction)   model under a grand canonical regime to investigate structural phase transition from a high symmetric tetragonal (Tet) to a low symmetric orthorhombic in YBa2Cu3O6+x , 0<x<1,  HTc system. Ordering process for absorbed oxygens from an external gas bath into the basal plane of the layered system is studied by Monte C...

Computational Simulation of Ablation Phenomena in Glass-filled Phenolic Composites

A one–dimensional, transient and thermal degradation model for predicting responses of composite materials when are exposed to the fire is presented. The presented model simulates ablation of composites with different layers of materials and considers material properties as functions of temperature. The reactions are modeled by using Arrhenius-type parameters and density-temperature diagram...

One-neutron removal reactions on neutron-rich psd-shell nuclei

A systematic study of high energy, one-neutron removal reactions on 23 neutronrich, psd–shell nuclei (Z = 5−9, A = 12−25) has been carried out. The longitudinal momentum distributions of the core fragments and corresponding single-neutron removal cross sections are reported for reactions on a carbon target. Extended Glauber model calculations, weighted by the spectroscopic factors obtained from...
